Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

Alcogram is a mobile app and website (alcogram.net) that lets you log and better understand your alcohol consumption. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Alcogram Android app and the alcogram.net website.

Who we are

Alcogram ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Stanislau Kurs, an independent developer. We are responsible for the personal data processed in connection with the app and website.

For any question or request about your privacy, contact us at apps.kursx@gmail.com.

Information you provide

Account information. You can sign in with Google or with an email address and password. Your email address is converted into a one-way hash on your device before it ever reaches our servers, so we identify your account by that hash and do not store your actual email address on our sync servers. Depending on how you sign in, we may also store your display name and profile picture so they can appear in the app.

Your drink log. The entries you create are the core content of the app and may include the type of drink, volume, amount spent, strength, date and time, how full the glass was, and your own notes.

Location you attach to entries. If you allow it, an entry can be tagged with your device's location so it can be shown on your personal map. This is optional.

How your email is stored

The app never sends your raw email address to our sync servers. Before anything is synced, your email is turned into a one-way cryptographic hash, and your account together with all of your drinking data is linked only to that hash. Your real email address stays on your device.

Because a one-way hash cannot be turned back into an email address, we cannot look at our database and tell which real person an account or its data belongs to. Your diary is not stored under your email address, and we do not keep your email in plaintext on our servers. Passwords, when you use email sign-in, are likewise stored only in hashed form, never in plaintext.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage data. When you use the app, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, approximate region, identifiers (including an advertising identifier), and how you interact with the app.

Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data help us find and fix problems.

Purchases. When you buy a subscription or make an in-app purchase, Google Play processes the payment and gives us the purchase status and receipt. We never receive your card or bank details.

Location data

Some features — tagging entries and showing them on a map — use your device's precise or approximate location. We access location only while you use those features and only after you grant permission. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings; entries you already tagged keep their location until you delete them.

How we use your information

We use your data to:

Advertising

The free version of Alcogram shows ads. Ads are delivered through Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network and ironSource (LevelPlay) mediation. These networks may use your advertising identifier and similar data to select and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted.

You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings. In the EEA, the UK and other regions we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown. Buying the ad-free version removes ads.

Third-party services we use

We rely on the following providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:

We encourage you to read these providers' privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data.

Social and community features

Alcogram includes optional social features such as friends, a feed, stories, rooms and comments. If you use them, the content and profile information you choose to share becomes visible to other users you interact with. Please do not post anything you would not want others to see.

How your data is stored and shared

Your diary is stored on your device and, if you enable sync or use an account, on our server so you can reach it from your other devices. We share personal data only with the service providers listed above, when required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

Data retention

We keep your account and synced data for as long as your account exists. Data stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. When you delete your account, we remove the associated personal data from our servers, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

You can delete your account and its data directly in the app, or by emailing apps.kursx@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Alcogram is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International data transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including by the service providers named above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Your continued use of Alcogram after a change means you accept the updated policy.
